Hello, my name is Sarah. I am a dedicated professional with over 20 years of experience in Human Resources and a newfound passion for dog grooming. With a solid foundation in HR and a heart full of love for animals, I am embarking on an exciting new career path that combines my nurturing spirit and professional expertise. Based in the Huntingdon, Cambridgeshire area, I am now ready to offer exceptional dog grooming services, drawing from years of experience, qualifications, and an unwavering love for animals.
Two Decades of Expertise in Human Resources
My professional journey began in Human Resources, where I spent over 20 years helping organisations thrive by building strong teams, supporting employees, and managing complex people-related challenges. Armed with a degree in Human Resources, I have developed a deep understanding of people management, leadership, and workplace dynamics.
Throughout my HR career, I have worked in various sectors, leading recruitment efforts, enhancing employee relations, and fostering positive workplace cultures. My ability to understand and connect with people allowed me to make a meaningful impact on the organisations I served. Yet, despite the success in HR, I have always felt a pull towards animals, and after years of fostering a rewarding career in HR, I decided to pivot to something that would truly ignite my passion.
A New Beginning in Dog Grooming
With a deep love for animals, especially dogs and alpacas, I decided to turn my passion into a professional endeavour. I enrolled in the College of West Anglia, where I completed my GNVQ Level 2 Certificate for Dog Grooming Assistant, marking the start of my journey into the world of dog grooming. It was an exciting transition, one that allowed me to blend my professional work ethic with my love for animals.

Eager to build on my newly acquired skills, I gained valuable hands-on experience at Tails of Long Sutton, a busy and well-respected grooming salon. Under the guidance of Joanne Wallace and her skilled team, I was able to work with dogs of all breeds and sizes, learning the ins and outs of the grooming process in a fast-paced, professional setting. It was here that I perfected my grooming techniques, learned to manage the demands of a busy salon, and gained firsthand experience in providing the highest level of care for each dog that came through the door.
Advancing Skills and Certifications
To ensure I was fully equipped to meet the needs of my future clients, I took my training further by completing the Level 3 iPET Diploma in Dog Grooming and Salon Management. This advanced qualification provided a deeper understanding of breed-specific grooming techniques, salon operations, and business management, essential skills that allows me to offer professional and high-quality grooming services.
Additionally, I also completed a Canine Emergency First Aid course, ensuring that I am prepared to handle any emergencies that may arise while working with dogs. This comprehensive training not only enhances my credibility as a dog groomer but also provides peace of mind for pet owners to trust me with your beloved animals.
Ready to Serve the Huntingdon Area
With two years of professional dog grooming experience, as well as a strong foundation of qualifications and hands-on training, I am now ready to offer my services as a professional dog groomer in the Huntingdon, Cambridgeshire area. Whether you are looking for a simple wash and cut or a more detailed grooming session, I have experience of handling dogs of all breeds, sizes, and temperaments with care and precision.

Having worked in a bustling grooming salon, I am well-versed in managing a variety of dogs, everything from the tiniest pups to the largest breeds. My calm, patient, and nurturing approach ensures that each dog feels comfortable and relaxed throughout the grooming process. It is not just about the grooming; it is about making sure each pet leaves feeling pampered, refreshed, and loved.
A Deep Love for Animals
At the core of my work as a dog groomer is an unwavering love for animals. Dogs have always held a special place in my heart. I understand that pets are family, and as such, every dog I groom receives not only top tier grooming but also the care and respect they deserve.

In addition to dogs, I have a particular fondness for alpacas, with eight of my own, each one of my boys have their own quirky personality. This love for animals fuels my desire to provide the best care possible, whether it is for a dog in need of a trim or an alpaca needing attention.
A Kind and Nurturing Professional
One of the qualities that sets me apart is my kind and nurturing approach. Whether in the corporate world of HR or in the world of dog grooming, I have always been known for my empathetic and supportive demeanour. This natural ability to connect with both people and animals makes me a trusted professional in my field.
My clients appreciate not only the high level of skill and professionalism but also the warmth and compassion I bring to every interaction. Whether it’s a dog that needs a gentle approach or a pet owner who needs reassurance, I will always be there to provide comfort and care.
